Collection Title: Jan Heynike
Jan Heynike is a Swiss-based artist whose work spans a vast range of themes and techniques, reflecting a lifetime of exploration and creative evolution. Born in 1937 in South Africa, he has lived across multiple continents—including Asia, North America, the United Kingdom, and Africa—each shaping his artistic vision.
Primarily working on paper, Jan employs diverse techniques such as pointillism, watercolour, linear painting, oil sticks, and ink. His subjects range from life drawing and portraiture to still life, botanical studies, landscapes, and architectural compositions. His approach is deeply intuitive, responding to inspiration in the moment and distilling movement, emotion, and structure into his pieces.
With a background in architecture, he has designed award-winning towers and mystical gardens and previously ran an art school, fostering artistic expression in others. Having exhibited in London, South Africa, and Switzerland, Jan now focuses entirely on his art, continuously pushing the boundaries of form and expression.
